Bristlenose wigglers day 3: yolk almost gone, first spirulina test
Most of the 37 are off the cave floor now and doing laps, yolk sacs are tiny. Tried a pinch of crushed spirulina wafer in a drop of tank water this evening and a few of them went straight for it. Pic below of the tub. Going to pipette out whatever is left in an hour like shrimplord said. Still 37, no more pale ones.

Nice, 37 still standing at day 3 is a great spawn. Add a bit of blanched zucchini mush tomorrow too, they like having something to rasp on.
Congrats, that's a lot of tiny pleco. Keep an eye on that tub water since spirulina fouls fast.
will do, zucchini is already in the freezer from the last batch of fry food. thanks!
37 and still all pink is a clean run. do you keep the tub dim? mine did better with the light low the first week.
yeah tub sits on a shelf with just ambient room light, no tank light at all. hoping that's about right.
low ambient light is plenty. mine did best when the tub was never fully dark either, just dim, so they could find the food.
Day 3 and still 37, that's honestly a better run than most first spawns. Nice work keeping the tub dim and clean.
not the one you asked but mine took about a day to settle into the hyacinth after the move, then they basically lived in the roots. the first night they were all bunched at one end of the tub.
day 4 and still 37. a few of them are now picking at the zucchini mush so that's a relief, thanks everyone. tub water was clear this morning after the pipette.
Clear tub water after an hour pipette is exactly what you want. Do a small water change with dechlorinated, temp matched water every day or two and they'll keep growing steady.
Nice, picking at the zucchini already is a good sign. Keep the daily small changes going and don't be tempted to overfeed once they start grazing.
