Buce pack unboxing day: what do you soak before attaching to wood?
Got some new buce locales in from a trade and they came with a bit of algae on the rhizomes. Pic below of the pieces. I usually rinse in tank water and tie them on, but wondering if anyone does a short soak first. Don't want to carry hitchhikers into the shrimp tank.

I rinse under the tap, then a quick soak in a bucket of tank water for 10 minutes and squeeze gently. No chemicals on anything that goes near shrimp.
Same, no dips for me. Look the rhizomes over for snail eggs and pest hitchhikers under a light, then quarantine the wood a week in a tub if you're paranoid like I am.
I do a quick tank water rinse and a soft toothbrush on any algae spots. Buce rhizomes are tough enough for that. Tie them on loose, the roots grab on their own.
I'd skip anything that isn't tank water near shrimp too. Algae on the rhizomes usually dies back once they're tied under moderate light anyway.
Yeah that's been my experience, the algae spots fade in a couple weeks if you don't blast the light. Thanks for the input.
