Hornwort tub update, guppy juvies colored up a lot this week
Following up on my tea colored tub. Juvies are eating hard and the males are starting to show tail color. Ammonia and nitrite still zero. Pic below of the culls bucket from today's sort, not too bad this round.

Good news. How often are you sorting culls, every week or just once at a few weeks old?
Every couple of weeks once they show sex. Too early and you cull the slow growers that turn out fine.
Nice color on the juvies. Is the culls bucket going to feeders or do you keep them as a grow-out for a local swap?
Most go to a feeder bucket for my bigger fish, but the best of the culls get a separate tub and head to a local swap. Some of the so-called culls color up late.
that's smart, the late bloomers are usually the ones with the best color anyway. do you hold them to the same size before they go to the swap?
Roughly, yeah. I wait till they're a decent size and the tail color is showing, otherwise people just see a brown fish in a bag.
