Rotala colorata going pink after moving to a stronger light, how long did yours take?
Moved a handful of colorata tops to the 120 under the brighter fixture about nine days ago. Top few nodes are blushing orange already but the lower leaves are still green. Running CO2 with nitrate around 10, no iron dosed yet. Pic below of the test tubes from this morning. Is this normal pace or should I add iron to push it?

pete nine days to blush on the tops is normal. i'd add a little iron but go easy, the lower leaves will stay green until they get light anyway. trim and replant the tops if you want the whole bunch pink.
mossboss agree on trimming tops. pete, keep nitrate from bottoming out too, mine went pale orange instead of pink when nitrate hit zero.
pete the nitrate point is real, i see the same thing with stem plants in my betta tanks. tops pink up fast once you stop starving them.
inkfin yep, mine pinked up in about two weeks once the nitrate stayed around 10. pete, if you dose iron go low and watch the tops, too much and the new growth goes pale and twisty.
pete one more thing on the iron, dose it a day after a trim rather than right when the tops go in. less stress on cuttings that are still rooting.
