Baby brine hatchery bottle finally dialed in, what salinity and temp are you running?
Pic below of my upside-down soda bottle on the shelf. I've been getting spotty hatches, maybe 50 percent, with about 28 grams of salt per liter and a heater loose in the water. Looking for what numbers other people settled on before I buy a proper hatchery cone.

riverina i run about 25 to 28 grams per liter at 26 to 28C with decent bubbling, and hatch in 24 hours. low aeration on the bottle bottom is usually why hatches go spotty, make sure no dead spots at the cone.
inkfin that makes sense, mine is basically lying on the bottom. i'll tape it up and add a second airline at the cone, thanks. will post the hatch rate after a couple of runs.
riverina one more tip, a bit of airline tubing with a weighted tip down to the cone helps a lot. also don't skip the heater, my hatches dropped hard when the room cooled overnight.
riverina also worth checking your salt, some cheap marine mixes with additives hatch worse than plain non-iodized salt. i get better numbers with the plain stuff.
brackishbabe good to know, I'm using regular aquarium salt right now. i'll try plain non-iodized next run and compare.
riverina one thing on the bottle, dim the room light near it too if you can. brine shrimp nauplii swim toward light so a lamp or bright window by the cone helps them collect at the bottom for harvest.
coralcass oh good call, my shelf is right next to a window so it's probably pulling them sideways. i'll shade the sides and put a small light under the cone.
riverina one thing, if you tape the sides black don't cover the cone itself, you want the light under it only. and keep the bottle rim clear so the airline doesn't get pinched.
pete good catch, rim stays clear and the light is just a little clip lamp aimed up at the cone. will post the hatch numbers next week.
riverina nice, the clip lamp under the cone is what most people end up with. a flashlight works for a test run before you buy anything.
