Pothos in the filter outflow for nitrate, anyone actually seen a difference?

Saw discusdan's nitrate thread and it got me thinking. I've got a long pothos cutting with the roots dangling into the sump of my 55, no other changes. Nitrate was 15 a couple weeks ago and I haven't tested since. Has anyone run emersed pothos or similar and logged real numbers before and after? Pic below of the sump setup is not mine yet, still deciding where to hang it.

mossboss it works but slowly, I had a pothos with a decent root mass drop mine about 5 ppm over a month in a 75. test weekly so you actually know.

pete good to know. mossboss, I'd try it on my discus 75 too if the roots are in the flow, they love a good bunch of roots in there.

discusdan careful with pothos roots near discus though, the roots are fine but trim any that start to rot so they don't foul the sump. mossboss, test weekly like pete said so you have real numbers.

shrimplord will do, weekly test starting today so I have a before number. I'll hang the cutting this evening and post what I see in a month.
