How warm do you keep your betta breeding tubs in autumn?
Room temps are dropping here and my spawning tubs are sitting at 25C with a small heater. Wondering if you run warmer for conditioning or just for the actual spawn. Heaters in small tubs make me nervous too.

I hold conditioning around 26C and nudge to 27 for the spawn. Anything lower and the females slow down on egg development. Use a sturdy heater with a guard in tubs.
I keep mine at 26C all the time rather than swapping between two temps. Fewer swings and the heaters in the little tubs just sit there ticking. Learned the hard way to put them on a cheap plug in thermostat too.
Good point on the thermostat, I'm adding one tonight. Do you float the tubs in a bigger water bath or just heat them directly?
Directly for the small ones, but a shallow water bath works well if you have the space. It buffers temp swings a lot.
For what it's worth I float my small tubs in a shallow bath too and the heater cycles way less. Dumb question but do you put an airstone in the bath or leave it still?
Still is fine in a shallow bath, just keep the lid or a sheet of plastic on so humidity doesn't climb in the room. Airstone only in the tub itself.
