totally normal, the male barely eats while guarding. he'll feed again once the wigglers are free swimming. don't worry about the wafer, just pull it in a day so it doesn't foul.

darker orange means they're close to hatching, usually a day or two from there. have that tub ready.

Once they hatch, keep the tub dim and the water really clean. Wigglers on the cave floor are touchy about nitrates.

thanks, tub is set up with a sponge filter and a dim corner. i'll move the cave over once i see the first wigglers.

good setup. once the wigglers drop, keep feeding him a bit of wafer or zucchini so he's strong again, they get thin after a week of fasting.

thanks, i'll keep a bit of zucchini blanched and ready to drop by the cave. first wigglers any hour now i think, the eggs look almost clear at the edges.

Nice, that's a good count for a first spawn. Keep the tub dim and don't feed the babies for the first few days, they live off the yolk.

will do, thanks. first wigglers just dropped actually, moving the cave to the tub now.

Nice, congrats. Keep an eye on the male for a few days and offer that zucchini once he settles.
