Black lace wrigglers on slate day 2, parents keep fanning, should I pull the slate?
Pic below of a fresh clutch from my other black lace pair, not the auction one. Eggs hatched yesterday and the wrigglers are stuck on the slate with mom and dad fanning like crazy. I usually leave them on the slate till free swimming but a couple of the eggs went white. Do you pull the dead ones with a pipette or leave the parents to clean up?

finandfry i'd leave them to it unless the parents are clearly stressed. a pipette near fanning parents can spook them into eating the lot.
i pull white eggs with a pipette only if there's a big cluster, because fungus can spread. a couple of white ones is normal and the parents usually clean them by tomorrow.
thanks dan, just a couple so i'll leave it alone tonight and check in the morning.
finandfry nice, black lace are usually solid parents once they've done a clutch or two. do you move the fry to a tub at free swimming or leave them in the tank?
riverina i leave them in the tank with the parents till they're free swimming, then move the fry to a bare tub with a sponge filter. less stress on the pair that way.
good sign finandfry. keep the lights dim till they're free swimming, a bright tank can make a nervous pair lose the lot.
