Black lace fry day 7, first sort and the round bellies are holding
Slate clutch from the black lace pair is a week free swimming and I did the first loose sort tonight. Pic below of the rack where the grow-out tubs are going. Culls are tiny so far, just a couple of slow ones. Anyone doing frequent small water changes on fry tubs this age or is a sponge filter and light feeding enough?

finandfry i do small daily changes of maybe 20 percent with a sponge filter running, the fry grow faster when the water stays clean. just match the temp so they don't get stressed.
inkfin same with my guppy tubs, daily small changes and nobody sulks. finandfry the sponge filter alone works if you feed really light.
finandfry sponge filter plus a light feed has worked for my small fry tubs too, but i'd siphon any leftover food off the bottom so it doesn't foul. how big are the tubs?
brackishbabe about 10 liter tubs for now, sponge filters in each. i'll do a baster siphon after the evening feed like discusdan said and see how the water holds.
finandfry looks like a solid rack. one thing, once you're past week two I'd start grading by size every few days, the big ones will outcompete the runts fast.
finandfry loose sort sounds right for now. i'd just keep the feed light until week two and skip anything that clouds the tubs.
