Plant haul came in wet newspaper wrapped, how long do you let new stems sit before planting?
Got a mixed box from a hobbyist today, anubias, java fern and crypts, pic below on the kitchen counter. Everything looks decent but a few crypt leaves are limp. Do you plant right away or let them sit in a bowl of tank water for a bit first? I usually rinse and plant but I've had crypts melt on me before.

crypts melt no matter what you do, honestly. rinse them, plant them, and don't touch them for a few weeks. the anubias and fern can just go on wood whenever.
agree with mossboss, the limp ones usually come back as new leaves. i trim the melted bits once they go clear and leave the crown alone.
thanks, that matches what happened last time. i'll rinse and plant them in the low spot and leave them be. the anubias is going straight on the wood tonight.
good plan. if the limp ones go fully clear, just snip the stem at the base and the crown usually sends new ones.
