Christmas moss on wood, thread tie or glue? Mine keeps floating off
Tied a golf ball of moss onto a small piece of spiderwood yesterday evening with cotton thread and by morning half of it had drifted loose in the flow. Using a hang-on filter on this 10 gallon so there's a fair bit of surface movement. Do you tie tighter, use gel super glue, or just stuff it in crevices and wait it out? Pic below of the setup I have it sitting in while I figure it out.

i tie it thin and wrap it a lot, like 4 or 5 passes, then leave the thread on for a couple weeks until it grabs. gel glue works too but i always get a bit of white crust on the moss.
agree on thread, and trim it down hard after it grabs. thin layers hold on way better than a fat golf ball does.
mossboss one more thing, a bit of fine mesh or a few drops of gel glue on the base layer keeps it down while the thread does its job. that flow from a hang-on will move loose moss around no matter what.
thanks pete, i'll put a few drops of gel on the base layer and rewrap with thinner passes tonight. will report back in a couple weeks if it grabs.
mossboss on a 10 gallon with a hang-on i'd also point the output flow away from the wood for the first week or two, makes the grab way easier.
good idea shrimplord, i can angle the spout at the glass. will try that tonight.
