Buce plantlets on a rock, how long before you trust them to hold on without thread?
Pic below of the nano cube, I tied a few buce plantlets onto stones about two weeks ago with cotton thread and the thread is still visible. Some already have little white roots gripping the rock. Do you cut the thread at the first roots or wait for a month? Shrimp keep tugging at the loose ones.

i wait till the roots are clearly wrapped around the rock, usually 3 to 4 weeks. cutting early and a shrimp bump sends them floating.
mossboss i cut mine at the point where i can lift the rock and the plantlet doesn't swing. 3 weeks is usually when the white roots start looking like they mean it. shrimp bumping them is the real test.
reefwitch the lift test is a good idea, i'll try that on the rocks this weekend. a couple are already past it so I'll snip those first.
