Buce rhizome melting after a move, wait it out or cut the dead part?
Moved a few of my newer locales into a different tank last week and one rhizome is going translucent at the back end, leaves still firm up front. I'm tempted to slice off the soft section but don't want to make it worse. Pic below is the tie-down setup I used, nothing too tight on the rhizome. What do you do when a rhizome starts to go soft?

mossboss i'd cut it back to firm tissue with a clean blade, the soft bit just feeds algae and spreads. leave the leaves on, they'll keep the rhizome going while it recovers.
pete same here, and give the cut end a day to dry out before you tie it back down. mine rotted less when I did that.
mossboss glad cut-back is what cass and i said, just make sure the blade is clean between cuts if you're doing more than one rhizome. a bit of dilute peroxide on the cut end also keeps rot down for some people.
pete will do, blade gets wiped with alcohol first. i'll skip the peroxide though, I've seen it burn buce tissue on thin rhizomes.
