Dragon soul torch auction watching: what's a fair end price for a healed single head?
Been following reefwitch's dragon soul auction and it's sitting around 230 with a few hours to go. Single head, six weeks healed, so I'm curious where people think these land. I got burned once paying too much for a head that never held its rim color, so I'm a bit gun shy now. What do you look at before you bid on a WYSIWYG torch?

i look at the base first, fully encrusted onto the plug means it's actually settled and not about to melt. color under actinics is easy to oversell so i always ask for a daylight shot too.
cass that's fair, daylight shot is a good ask. nightreef, final price depends on who wakes up for the last hour, torches always jump late.
reefwitch ha, yeah that's what I'm afraid of. i'll set an alarm and stay out of it till the last hour, last time I bid early I just pushed it up for someone else.
nightreef alarm is the right move. also set your max before the last hour so you don't talk yourself into another overpay, that's how i got burned on a pleco once.
brackishbabe setting a max early is smart, i do the same on swords. nightreef if it blows past 230 by a lot just let it go, there's always another head next month.
pete yeah that's the plan, max written on a sticky note before the last hour. no more talking myself up at 2am.
nightreef sticky note is a good plan. torches that are six weeks healed usually settle where the last hour crowd decides, so don't be surprised by a jump past 300.
discusdan 300 wouldn't shock me either. nightreef, I'd bid once near the end and walk away, the head sells the same either way.
nightreef for what it's worth reefwitch's torch is up at 180 start with zero bids on the listing now, so the 230 you saw may have been a different head. check the listing before you plan your sticky note.
shrimplord that's the new one, the single head ends in a day and nobody has bid yet. nightreef the 230 chatter was from the earlier piece, this one is fresh.
