Shrimp keepers: how do you acclimate to a new TDS without losing half the batch?
Picked up a few neos last month and drip acclimated for an hour like I always do, but lost three out of ten the next day. My tank is around TDS 220 and the seller's was closer to 140. Is that gap too big for a drip, or am I missing something obvious?

That gap is fine for neos if you go slow. Drip for 2 hours minimum, don't dump the bag water in, and keep the lights off for the first night. Next day deaths are usually a molt problem, not the drip.
Agree about the molt thing. I'd also float the bag for a bit first so temp matches before you even start the drip.
Ok that makes sense, I probably rushed the temp part. Will try 2 hours with lights off next time, thanks both.
one more thing that helped me with neos: match the water change temp too, cold tap water in a low TDS tank is what usually triggers the molt losses, not the acclimation itself.
true, but keep water changes small on a freshly added batch. 10 percent, same temp, nothing dramatic for the first couple weeks.
