Do they spawn on slate only or will they take a leaf or a pipe too? Setting up a spawning tank and slate is easy to add.
Listing only says they spawn on slate, that's what all four clutches were on. I haven't tried them on anything else with this pair, so a slate in the tank is the safe bet.
slate it is then, I have a spare piece from my last scape. good to know it's only been tested on that.
Do the pair ever eat their eggs when the tank is disturbed, or did they leave every clutch alone? Thinking about how quiet I need to keep the room.
Listing says they wrigglered every clutch and ate none, four spawns on slate. Past that I'd keep the room calm anyway, I haven't tested them with a lot of disturbance.
Fair enough, thanks for being straight about what you've actually tested. I'll keep the room calm and see how I feel by the end of the auction.
Bumping my interest, good to hear the pair never ate a clutch. Slate is already set up in the 40 breeder.
Do you ship the pair together in one box or split them up? Also how many days of lead time before it goes out after the auction closes?
Listing says they ship in a double-bagged tall box with dividers, so the pair goes together in one box. For the lead time message me after the auction closes and we'll sort out the days.
Tall box with dividers is the right call for a pair. Worth asking about lead time and temp packing before the auction closes so there are no surprises.
Do you know roughly how big the pair is? Trying to figure out if my 40 breeder is enough space for them plus the cories already in there.
Listing doesn't give measurements, they're proven adults though. A 40 breeder is a fine home for a pair, message me and I'll send current photos with a ruler in the shot.
Four spawns on slate and none eaten is what I was hoping to see. Bidding, I already have the second slate ready.
Four spawns with zero eaten is rare, most pairs lose a clutch or two early on. Good luck to whoever takes it.
Does the double-bagged box with dividers mean the pair travels in separate bags? Curious how you split a pair for shipping.
Listing says double-bagged tall box with dividers. For the exact bag layout message me and I'll walk you through it.
Does the pair come already bonded and spawning in the same tank right now, or were they split at any point? Thinking about how to house them on arrival.
Listing says proven pair with four successful spawns on slate, so they've been working as a pair. For how they're housed right now message me and I'll go through it.
Bid is up past $125 already, nice. Do the pair stay together in the tank between spawns or do you split them?
Listing only says proven pair with four spawns on slate. For how they're housed between spawns message me and I'll go through it.
Is the double-bagged tall box with dividers one pair per box, or do you pack other fish with them?
Listing just says it ships double-bagged in a tall box with dividers. Message me with your zip and I'll go through the packing with you.
Do the pair come with the slate they spawned on, or is it just the fish?
Listing says four successful spawns on slate and doesn't mention the slate going with them. Message me and I'll tell you what I can do.
Four spawns with no eaten clutches is rare for angels, usually the first pair to wrigglers still munches a few. Is the pair from the same spawn or paired up from separate lines?
Listing only says proven with four successful spawns on slate, nothing about lineage beyond that. Message me and I'll tell you what I know about how the pair came together.
Does the pair get bagged separately or together? Asking because mine fought hard when I moved a pair last year.
Listing says they ship double-bagged in a tall box with dividers. Message me if you want to talk through how I'd split them up.
Following the black lace pair. Does the listing say what temp they spawned at? Mine only go at 28C if I do a cooler change first.
Listing doesn't give a spawning temp, it only says four successful spawns on slate and that they ate none. Message me and I'll tell you what I ran them at.
Sitting at 144 with seven bids is wild for a pair. Do the fry from the four spawns still have any of the black lace coloring, or is that something you saw only in the adults?
Listing only covers the four spawns on slate and that they ate none, it doesn't describe the fry coloring. Message me and I'll tell you what I saw in the fry.
Four spawns with zero eaten clutches is rare for angels. Watching this one till the end.
Quick note for anyone watching, the pair is going out in a double-bagged tall box with dividers, that's in the listing. Ten hours left.
Got my photos by message, that settled it. Bid placed, good luck all.
Congrats on 14 bids, that's a lot of love for a pair. Do you pack them with a heat pack if the forecast is cold, or just the double bag?
Listing only covers the double-bagged tall box with dividers. Message me with your zip and I'll tell you what I can do for the weather.
Good to know the box setup is in the listing. I'm in the northeast and it's getting chilly, would you tell me what you'd do for weather if I message my zip?
Yep, message me your zip and I'll tell you what I can do. Listing only covers the double-bagged tall box with dividers, so I'd rather sort the rest out one on one.
Watching this one close out. Seven hours left and four clean spawns on slate is hard to beat for a proven pair.
Same two fish all four spawns, never separated. They're the pair that laid on the slate every time, no swapping.
good to know it was the same two the whole time. I'll message my zip tonight about the weather question.
Three hours left on the black lace pair. Same two fish for all four spawns, and they ship double-bagged in a tall box with dividers. Ask away before it closes.
