Bristlenose fry ended up in my filter intake, how do you guard against this
My super red bristlenose pair finally spawned in the cave and about a week after wriggling I found a dozen fry stuck on the sponge prefilter. Rescued most of them. Do you cover the intake with finer foam or just move the spawn to a grow out? Looking for what actually works for you.

Fine pore foam over the intake is cheap and works. I also pull the cave into a small tub once they start wriggling, survival goes way up.
Fine foam is going on tonight then. Tub for the next spawn for sure, thanks.
I stuck a bit of pre-filter sponge sleeve over mine too. Fry still end up in the corners sometimes but way fewer.
