Clown loaches huddled under the wood all day, normal?
Six clown loaches in my 75, they spend most of the day stacked together under one big piece of driftwood and only come out when I feed. Pic below. Water is fine, ammonia and nitrite zero, nitrate around 10. Is this just loach behavior or should I be doing something different with hiding spots or lighting?

Totally normal for clowns, they like being stacked and out of the light. As long as they come out to eat and have good color I wouldn't worry. Another cave or two helps them spread out.
Agree. Mine only really come out when the lights dim in the evening. If they ever start hiding alone and looking pale, that's when to worry.
Good to know, they do get more active near dusk. Adding a second cave this weekend.
Clown loaches also like having a tube or half a pipe to wedge into. Mine ignore the wood if there's a PVC tube nearby.
