Watch for clamped fins and anyone hanging at the surface. Feed very light for the first few days and test ammonia daily. If the temp swing was big, a pinch of salt in the tub is not a bad idea.

Good call moving them early. Also check the tub temp against where they were outside, try to keep the difference small and let the room do the rest.

One more thing, keep the lid or a cover on that tub. Juvies jump when they're stressed from a move and you'll find a few on the floor otherwise.

good catch, tub has a lid but it's loose. putting a towel over half of it tonight so it stays dim too.

Hyacinth roots in the tub will help a lot with the ammonia too. Nice that you floated the bags first, a lot of people skip that step.

thanks, towel is on and the juvies are already hanging in the roots. will test ammonia again in the morning.

Morning check on the ammonia is the right move. If it reads anything above zero, a small water change with dechlorinated water beats waiting it out.

good tip on the small water change, i always forget that waiting it out is the worse option. how long did your juvies take to settle in the roots after a move?
