Shrimp tank stuck at TDS 220 after switching to remineralized RO, is that too high for neos?
Switched my 20 long from tap to RO with a shrimp mineral mix last week and the TDS is sitting at 220 where I aimed for 170. Neos have been fine so far, a couple berried females still carrying. Do I dilute down slowly or just leave it since they seem happy? Don't want to cause another molt crisis.

220 is fine for neos, they handle 150 to 300 without trouble. Leave it. If you want to lower it, do it over a few water changes with plain RO, never a big swing, that's what causes bad molts.
good point, I've been topping off with tap out of habit. switching that to RO today, thanks.
Good call. Tap pushes the TDS up and swings the GH/KH, so topping off with RO only will keep it steady. Check TDS again in a couple of days.
will do, I'll test after the next top off and report back. berried girls are still holding so fingers crossed.
That's exactly what you want, slow and steady. Leave it alone and let the RO do the work.
report back with the number brackishbabe, I switched to RO mix for my discus tank and the TDS settled after two weeks.
same here with my betta RO mix, took about two weeks to stop drifting. brackishbabe a quick TDS number in a couple days would be handy for the rest of us.
will do inkfin, testing after the next RO top off and I'll post the number here.
205 is a great place to be. Keep topping off with RO only and it'll settle around there without you doing anything else.
tested after this morning's RO top off and it read 205. girls are still carrying, will check again in a couple days.
205 on remineralized RO sounds fine for neos honestly. mine sit around 200 and breed like crazy, just don't chase the number with big changes.
riverina's right, 200 to 205 is fine for neos. the thing that kills them is swings, not the number.
good to hear, no more tinkering from me then. girls are still carrying as of this afternoon.
good call leaving it alone. check again after the next two top offs and if it stays near 205 you're done.
