brackishbabe totally normal. mine hide a few days then slowly show up around dusk. once they see nobody is chasing them they get bold fast.

finandfry agree. brackishbabe bring the lights up gradually after day 3 or so and drop a slice of zucchini on the wood, that usually pulls them out.

reefwitch zucchini slice is going on the wood tonight, thanks. will report back on whether anyone shows up before lights off.

brackishbabe fwiw once they're out at dusk, don't spook them by switching the lights on at night to check. watch with the room dark and a phone dim. they settle faster that way.

shrimplord ha, guilty, i was peeking with the flashlight last night. no more of that, red-ish dim light only.

brackishbabe that's the usual pattern, the bold one goes first and the rest follow within a few days. leave the slice in no longer than 24h so it doesn't foul the water.

finandfry slice is on the wood and i'm sitting in the dark with the phone dimmed. i'll pull it tomorrow evening so it doesn't sit past 24h.

brackishbabe my bristlenose took about a week before they stopped bolting when I walked past. a piece of slate leaned on the glass gave them a second hiding spot and they used it more than the caves.

discusdan slate trick is good, i do that for my plecos too. they seem to like a tight spot against the glass more than an open cave.
